Day 32

Calling to Share Our Faith

by Cecelia Rollings

As we look forward to Christmas, we think of gifts for those we love. I can remember when I was five years old. I had asked for a red purse. That was all I had really wanted, but I wanted it with a passion. I could hardly wait until Christmas to see if I got one. When Christmas came, I had that prized possession.

God gave man the greatest gift ever given that He had promised would come as their Savior. Romans 5:8 says, "But God shows His love for us in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us." Jesus came to shed His blood for all of our sins so that we could become God's sons and have a relationship with Him. That salvation comes to us in Romans 10:9-10 which states, "Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."

As sinners, we could not be in the presence of God as He is holy. But because of His love for us, He had the plan for Jesus to be the sacrificial Lamb for our sins by shedding His blood on the cross so by accepting Jesus as our Savior we could come into God's presence and have a relationship with Him, which is why God created man.

Jesus is the only way to God, our Father. As we accept Jesus as our Savior, the Holy Spirit comes and dwells within us to change us over time to be more like Jesus. It is a process over our lifetime, but the greatest blessing of our life is to know Jesus and to become more aware of who He is.

As we grow in our passion for Him, we want to share the gospel, the good news, with others.

Questions to Ponder:  Do you know Jesus as your Savior?  Who do you need to share the Good News of Jesus with today?

Prayer: My Father God, we humbly come into Your presence, worshiping and praising You and thanking You for who You are. You loved mankind from the beginning and had the plan to send Jesus to be the sacrifice for our sins so that we might come in Your presence and have fellowship with You. You provided the way to become a part of Your family. As we grow in our relationship with You, the Holy Spirit compels us to share Jesus with others. May we honor You in everything we say and do and bring glory to Your name. May we each hear Your voice and obey You. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
